Since I've yet to find a Bookaholic Anonymous group, I've been doing my best to curb my book spending habits by purchasing used books. Mostly, I use Amazon for the convenience. However, recently I stumbled upon a couple of great (or at least so far in my shopping experience) sites for used books:

Whew, I finally finished this beast! When I started looking for big name books in the LGBT literary world, I kept seeing Randy Shilts' "And the Band Played On...". I finally finished up Stonewall: The Riots that Sparked the Gay Revolution tonight. Basically, it was a fabulous read about incredibly brave, marginalized people who'd had enough. Has anyone read the A Song of Fire and Ice series by George R.R. Martin? I keep seeing this series popping up everywhere, but I know next to nothing about it. The editorial reviews section of Amazon calls Martin the "American Tolkien", which, quite frankly, isn't a selling point at all for me, lol ( Read more... )

I have officially had to readjust my list of my top five favorite books. I just finished reading Andre Aciman's Call Me By Your Name, and I'm not even sure breathtaking is a strong enough adjective to describe the beauty and longing that bleeds throughout this narrative.
