After speding a week near the beach, the Jung family intended to go to the mountains, bringing Jaejoong as well. Since they left early, the kids were sleepy and fell in a deep slumber. That was when Yunho’s parents decided to place their guest in the middle. Little Yunho opened his eyes lightly when he was in his vehicle and took his Joongie’s hand before falling asleep.
Jihye’s cries woke the two boys up a few moments later: apparently she was hungry. Yunho was grumpy. He didn’t like being startled like this, especially by his sister. So what if she wanted to eat? He wanted to but he didn’t make a fuss about it. He sighed: his parents gave in and announced them they would stop at a lay-by.
Little Jaejoong alighted from the car in order to stretch his legs. He couldn’t help himself yawning and stayed near his best friend, who seemed in a bad mood.
“What’s wrong Yunnie?” he asked softly, concerned about his friend.
“Yunnie wants to sleep but Jihye is mean…”
“Joongie will play with her so Yunnie can sleep, okay?” Jaejoong smiled before kissing him on the cheek.
“Hmpf,” little Yunho blushed at his action.
“Joongie doesn’t want Yunnie to be sad or mad, okay?”
Little Yunho nodded with a smile and they joined his parents on a blanket placed on the grass. The whole family ate some cookies, biscuits and baby’s bottle then left the place.
“Look! There’s a cow! And she goes ‘moo’,” Jaejoong explained slowly, a book in front of him, for his attentive pupil.
“Moo~!” the two-year-old girl replied back.
“Look! Look! All the animals from the farm!” the professor wannabe said cheerfully while showing Jihye the images. “Horses, here it’s a pig, there two sheep, and a rooster on the roof! Oh and look at the rabbits!”
Jaejoong didn’t know how to read yet, he was just describing the images and somehow Jihye was amazed by his ‘lesson’. He turned the page and the theme was ‘The Ocean and its friends’. Little Yunho woke up by Jaejoong’s voice, his eyes went on his right: the landscape was still passing before his eyes. His look wandered at his left until he saw his Joongie talking to his sister and got bored.
“Joongie?”
“Wait Yunnie, we are learning all the animals on the sea!” his best friend replied with enthusiasm.
Little Yunho, seeing his Joongie smiling, couldn’t help smiling himself but he was sad. Jihye was always attracting all the attention from his parents and there, even his Joongie! He frowned and began to play with his fingers.
“And that’s the vice-queen of the sea: the whale! But the shark is mean, it’s the king. Finished!” Jaejoong said, all smiling.
The little boy let Jihye have the book and turned to his friend. The latter was looking through the window, motionless. Jaejoong took his hand and stroked it lightly.
“Yuuunnie~”
However, his little friend didn’t turn his head nor answered. Little Jaejoong asked him what was wrong, he didn’t like to see his Yunnie like this.
“Yunnie wanted to sing with Joongie but Joongie likes Jihye more,” the latter replied sadly, still looking at the landscape.
“It’s not true!” Jaejoong protested immediately. “Joongie played with her because Joongie told Yunnie he can sleep.”
“Still,” little Yunho pouted.
“Jihye is really cute. That’s because she looks like Yunnie she’s cute,” little Joongie explained with a kiss on his cheek. “Come on! Let’s sing!”
His best friend smiled widely while blushing and he sang with his Joongie, their hands intertwining together.
