( Things I Learned in Portland )

so friday we just did litter clean-up on a 2 mile stretch of road that is sponsored by the camp that we are staying at. and that didnt even take until lunch. we had the rest of the day off. then this weekend i just slept and sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful sun and watched a bunch of movies.

so yesterday we were at a site removing more blackberry, planting natives, and creating a trail. matt and i also removed a cast iron bathtub from a riverbank (there's a picture of that).

then today we were planting some plants left over from one of saturday's planting events. and then we removed some more blackberry.

so it seems a lot has happened since i last updated. so on sunday i stayed inside for most of the day. but in the late afternoon a few of us decided to go to multnomah falls which is 13 miles up the road that we live off of. so we drove there and it was awesome because there were various viewpoints and other falls just on the side of the road. so i decided since i have a cold that i didnt feel like going out with everyone else and wandering around portland in the rain. plus i'm over portland...and i dont really want to spend anymore money ( Read more... )

so today was a rather silly day. we met our site supervisor and then drove to the site. but then we had to drive back downtown to go to the No Ivy League headquarters and have a service learning thingy about why Ivy is bad and needs to be removed. and apparently when the world ends there will still be cockroaches, ivy, and styrofoam peanuts left ( Read more... )

so matt and i had to battle an evil weed at the worksite yesterday and today. it totally kicked our butts and we had to recruit tzippi and tricia.
