Okay quick post.
SO, finished my baby sister's sweater a bit over a week ago. I got most of it done, while in Scotland, and finished up the rest before the first of the month. She picked the colour and the pattern...though, she does not know if i would "make it" in time for Xmas. My other younger sister opted for the traditional hat and scarf. She, too, picked the patterns out and gave me some colour choices. Seeing as hers was a "faster" and smaller project. I actually got better wool. I am using baby alpaca for the scarf, and some spare angora I have, for the hat. NICE AND COZY.
okay, So i took a close up and a far away shot of the sweater, so you can see i did the body in a basket weave, and the arms and hood in an AMerican Moss Stitch. My baby sister's sweater is made up of alpaca, wool and acrylic. With 10 skeins needed, I did not want to spend more than $7 a skein. I would have loved to done the whole thing in a softer wool, but it would have racked up to a $150 sweater . Luv my sis...but, jiminy, that's a bit much.
i know you really can't see the difference in the stitching. And, the photos are terrible, all around. But, I am too dang cheap to buy a new camera. I am waiting til the new year to get a new MDA phone, then, the quality will be MUCH better. I apologize.
and, below, is the hat I did for my other sister. I'll put up the scarf, when it's done.
