The Prius went in for her first oil change today (we've had it since Thanksgiving, and it's already got 4600 miles on it). Thanks to the "Platinum Service Rewards" card they gave us, the oil change and the tire rotation were both free. Just as well, as the standard oil change is $40! Went downtown to the model train expo at the fairgrounds and the home and garden show at the convention center. The train expo was way more interesting overall, except for the service-dog-in-training (young and amazingly well-behaved chocolate Lab) being socialized at one booth and the real live sugar gliders being "demonstrated" at another. We watched Who Killed the Electric Car last night. The EV1s looked like neat little vehicles. Still driving the rental. A good feature of it is the pretty awesome sound system, though it could use an equalizer. A bad feature is the fact that it WON'T READ MY BATMAN CD. Also, when I checked with the body shop on Wednesday they said the Prius might be available today. Yuck. I want my car back.

"Charge of the Batmobile" is awesome driving music, even if the car you're driving isn't exactly the Batmobile.

And yes, the Prius is in danger of being named the Hybraxi. Damn you, Futurama writing staff!

Plus: Smartkey entry system. Best feature ever, and now I want one for my house. You don't even have to push buttons on the remote; just walk up to the car with the fob in your pocket, touch the sensor on the rear gate or front doors, and it opens. Lock it again by pushing one of the buttons in the same locations. No need to wrestle your keys ( Read more... )
