Plenty

Another week has flown by!  Wow, things went by sooo fast!  I didn't see it coming at all.

Alex was off from school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this past week.  Since we don't usually get that much time off from school, I decided that it was a good time to go down and visit Nana and Papa while we had the chance.  The boys had a enjoyable time there.  Wednesday, Nana and I got a babysitter and went to the Mesa Temple.  That was nice to really get out.

Thursday I had a parent teacher conference at Alex's preschool.  He is doing good.  We just reviewed the progress that his teacher has observed in class.  So it was good to see where he is at and what he is doing when I'm not there.

Friday Mike got a chance to take off from work.  He has had major outages lately.  Which basically means that the servers/computers at work have had a major crash and it is very likely that Mike stayed up the whole night to fix it.  Meh!  It is not our love of loves when it comes to his job.  But the good side is that they will compensate with letting him take a day off to make up for the long hours.  Friday he was able to take off.

He left without me on Friday late afternoon because I was tied up with some of my ANWA responsibilities that day.  We are having a conference the beginning of March so I'm pretty busy with all of that.  So I met up with the rest of the family later that evening.

Saturday Mike had his first competition in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  (I need to make him put an entry in here about what he is doing with all of that.)  He took 2nd place in the competition and over the state.  It was pretty cool!  In the mean time, I watched the boys since we didn't have a sitter.  I really wish I could have been there to see how great he did.  That morning I went to a church function with my mom that illustrated the Relief Society through the years, it was really cool too!  Nana wore the pioneer clothing for it and had to help clean up afterward.  I also volunteered to watch both Gage and Addison for a few hours in the afternoon since I already planned to watch my own and Alex was begging me to have his cousins over to play with.  The kids had fun playing.

Saturday evening Mike and I, after he got back from his competition, went to see a Pink Floyd laser show.  It was really nice.  Mike had a chance to see it last year but I was sick so I didn't get to go.  So he took me again this year and it was really fun! It was a great date!

That's our week in a nutshell.  We have some video of the tournament that Mike was at.  I'll add that when he sends me the link.

I also have a ton of pictures that I need to update in the Photo Scrapbook, but again I'm so far behind it will take me a while to catch up.  Hopefully after the first weekend in March things will slow down and I'll have a chance to update better.

And lets not forget the ever changing Ethan.  Yeah, we cut his hair this week and he went from looking like me to looking like his daddy!  And since we've been hanging around cousins and other kids he has been picking up new stuff daily!  Hourly!  He also managed to throw his favorite stuffed animal monkey and breaking the eye off of it.  So we've had to switch to a secondary toy.  At least until I can find a way to fix it.  Today alone, when I asked him to do something he responded with "K."  He's never done that before.  I've had several moments like this over this last week.  He's just doing new stuff too fast!

Lastly, a few weeks ago it was warm and in the 80s.  Shocking for us too.  But then we got a cold front here and it has stuck around for the last few weeks.  THANKFULLY!  It has just now started to warm just a tad.  I want it to stay cold a bit longer.  I don't want it to be warm so soon.  So hopefully that it will still stay cool for a bit longer.  I like wearing my warmer clothing.  Especially because I only get to wear it for a short winter.  That's Phoenix Arizona for you!  The higher country in Arizona has the cold longer.  Phoenix is just unique.  I want to try and attempt to do a bit of gardening next fall/winter though.  You can grow things year round here, but I don't want to try the heat gardening until I've tried my hand at the cooler weather first.
