Facebook's new protocols suck: Adding people to groups, being inundated with spam from groups unless I change the settings, a zillion ways for facebook to reveal to my friends what I do online (I can't turn mine off because FB says my features are not available yet). These all make the internet less interactive and more obnoxious to me ( Read more... )

Well, my work voted 80% to strike. This makes sense. The rationale is that management has not met their basic legal obligations, and the only way to compel them with the law to meet those obligations is to vote to strike. We expect a resolution long before any picket lines go up.

Today was incredible.

Victory...more than victory...today was excellent success.

This region is much safer because of the conversations we had today.

I am pitching a funding proposal (me and 3 other people) to Crown attorneys and forensics people. It is imperative that we impress them. I've got National Crime Prevention funding literature all over my apartment right now. I'm working my ass off.

Wish luck for me.

Holy crap! The awesome research assistant job that I was offered got it's funding pulled by the government. Or at least my position got its funding pulled. Argh! They will probably get money in September, but by then teaching jobs will have already hired. I do not want to be sitting in seminars, piloting uninterested students to intellectual ( Read more... )
