Nothing exciting this week.
I fixed a few things around the house that I’ve put off for quite a while. I cleaned up some stuff out back. Laundry is running now. Dishes will get done in the morning after breakfast and after I get a cake baked for Sunday (my wife’s birthday celebration).
The pup and I zoned out quite a bit. She’s still confused that I’m here all day, and no one else is around. I’m sleeping on the edge of the king sized bed because she’s plastered against me at night. During the day she sleeps in front of a fan in the front room. And to make things worse for her, we had a horrific wind, rain, and lightning storm last night.
I’ve been trying to maintain the little 10’ diameter pool we bought without using a test kit. I had to add algicide Tuesday, and stayed out of it all day Wednesday while that worked. I shocked it as well, vacuumed it, changed the filter a couple of times, and now the water is just a little cloudy. And skimming is never ending due to a male Staghorn sumac above part of it and dropping little dead flowers constantly. But it’s nice to splash around in with the temps around 90°F (32°C).
Why don’t I cut down the messy sumac? It’s the only one left, a male, part of a stand of both male and female trees from years past.

Bees. So many bees benefit from the flowers!
I fried some zucchini from the garden for dinner the other night. I’ve gotten a few tomatoes, and a couple of cukes, as well. Otherwise, the garden is not doing well this year. I think my soil samples were taken incorrectly and the recommendations based on them were insufficient. *sigh* next year…!
Oh, and I did play around with the Bing creator some more. That’s been a fun distraction! Here are a couple of expandable bunnies :o)
This last one was an old bunny reminiscing about childhood.
Ah, and lastly, we had a doe appear out front who was then joined by two hungry little fawns. The video is a little blurry due to dog snots on the glass.
