I was most saddened today when I opened my little box of Smarties. No longer are there any shiny blue Smarties, or nicely coloured green or brown Smarties. Instead we have nasty coloured Smarties and white Smarties, because apparently nobody likes using artificial colours any more.
Whilst I agree with this in principal, I miss the blue Smarties.
I'm off to see Pirates again tonight with my lovely Springers gang, bless 'em all.
And just another mention for
http://www.tiagreyhounds.org.uk/, partly because of that really traumatic article in the Times this week. Greyhounds have such a tough deal, and Tia is close to my heart (*fangirls
Poppy*). They do such a lot of work for such a lot of dogs, often above and beyond the limits of their funding and kennel capacity. Even if it's just dropping a couple of pennies into the donation box next time you see them around town, you should do something to help.
Actually, I should mention that they have a fab Christmas auction, catered by the Cinnamon Lodge. They have some great auction prizes too, including weeks in holiday homes abroad and stuff. I know it's only July, but tickets will be out and about in the next few months.
[ETA: Have been reliably informed that tickets are available now for Tia's Christmas Auction. If anyone wants to come, Katie & I will be going again, and so you'll have some company.]
