I am so tired today, and I have no idea why. I didn't get up until 10am! That's really late for me at the moment, since I keep having to get up and deal with the puppy.
Anyway, I saw Pirates again yesterday, and I'm sad to say it wasn't as brilliant on a second viewing. It is still brilliant, but it does not surpass the first as repeated viewings go. On the other hand, I had a greater appreciation for Norrington, who is just the most understated fab character ever. All his scenes are so good! Yay for Norrington!
However, the people I was with agreed amongst themselves that a) the film was better than the first one, and b) Elizabeth was doing the right thing on the Black Pearl at the end. I could comprehend neither of these things, but that is perhaps because I favour Cpt. Jack over Will Turner, which none of them did.
On a completely unrelated note, my dad swears he saw a panther (or something like) on Chain Road the other night. It just strolled out across the road in front of him, apparently, and vanished over a wall. I'm sceptical, but he's not blind enough not to be able to tell the difference between a dog and a cat yet, so I have no decent explanation.
Another Tia Greyhound Christmas Ball/Auction reminder thing: I actually have more information on this now, and can give you proper details and stuff.
It's on December 2nd, at Marsden Mechanics Hall, and tickets are £20 each, available from the 1st October but can be pre-booked now. Champagne reception and meal, catering is done by the fabulous Cinnamon Lodge from Meltham. You can also pre-book wine with your meal, and the profits from the wine buying go direct to Tia. The auction will last for an hour or so after the meal, and then there is a live band on.
Ok, it will probably be attended by old doggy people, but you'd be helping a good cause and frankly, it's worth going just for the food.
You can get tickets by calling in at the Meltham Shop.
