I recenly bought a German grammar book, in the hope to conquer the German grammar. Fittingly enough, it started with a lesson on gender (der/das/die) in German. There are a lot of rules of thumb for the genders, some of them quite nonsensical. I quite like the rule for words ending in -e: usually they are feminine, unless they are masculine. Haha! Last week I went to the main branch of the city library. I've come to expect it to have every book I can come to think of, so I wanted to check if they had any Chinese language manga books. I can't sleep, and it's totally my own fault. Last night I stayed up and read a frightfully exciting detective story. I read until the morning, and fell asleep in the weak morning light without having found out who the murderer was. Wasn't it P.G. I've been reading a lot of Harry Potter this week. I don't know if that's good, in some ways the books make me ... upset. I don't mean that in a totally bad way, but, I'm not sure if I really want to read them.

I finally got through the first story in my book with stories from the Yuan dynasty. I mean, I've read it before, but now I looked up the words I didn't know, almost all of the words, and that took a lot of time, but together with the vocabulary at the end of the story, I now know almost every word. :) So that's good ( Read more... )
