Community more and more reminds me of Farscape. Characters that should be cliches seem so very real. And be willing to take real chances with the real danger of screwing up badly. But also, giving themselves the chance to do episodes that are truly amazing.

Pulp Fiction morphing into My Dinner with Andre? That's just fucking brilliant.

The heat has finally broken, and the weather is beautiful. At least for a couple of days and then the heat and humidity return; but I'm going to enjoy what we have now.

HBO is developing a series based on George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire SagaMy first reaction is Swell! And my second one is How? Martin's books are incredibly complex and episodic without a straight forward storyline. Finally, after a week of gloom, the sun is shining. I shouldn't complain, last week was sunny with highs of almost seventy. I just finished watching Rome on DVD. Wonderful, lush production, most of the acting was wonderful, the writing interesting if just occasionally strained to keep Voranus & Pullos at the center of the action; but I found myself constantly distracted by that huge tooth of Brutus's. This is exactly what Democrats should be doing; pointing out the biases of our conservative press, and demanding that facts are looked at instead of fear-mongering.
