Community more and more reminds me of Farscape. Characters that should be cliches seem so very real. And be willing to take real chances with the real danger of screwing up badly. But also, giving themselves the chance to do episodes that are truly amazing.

Yesterday we had sun. And the sun melted some of the snow. Then last got cold. And froze the snow water. Today we have no sun. But we do have sidewalks covered in black ice. On which I slipped. No love!

It was however, wonderful to have Community back again.

I'm enjoying the new season of Chuck. Last night's was my favorite, because Awesome makes everything, well, Awesome.

But the Sarah/Chuck thing? Together, or really just friends, please. No triangles, no quadrangles, no new love interests. All in, or all out. The will they or won't they grows really old and stinky by the third season.

The craziness that is my workplace is almost over, our new system has finished integration testing so we could throw it back to IT to fix the last bugs. So I have the entire weekend off. Which is beautiful timing, because this is the best weekend yet of the spring. The yard needed a lot of work, of which I got some of it done ( Read more... )

It occurs to me that the summer television season is practically perfect, at least for me. There's only four shows I want to watch; which is enough to be enjoyable and break but not a hassle to make time for. I've been reading Marilynne Robinson's Gilead, and am surprising myself by completely enjoying it. I admired the writing in Housekeeping, but the characters left me cold. John Ames, the main character of Gilead, amuses me, and charms me, and Robinson's writing is as usual superb ( Read more... )

Anyone else watching The Middleman on ABC Family? Funny, fast, deadpan, and well-acted, this comic book geek girl is in heaven.
