I ran the Danskin Triathlon for the second time yesterday. I didn't do quite as well as I did last year, but I didn't train quite as much either, so I guess that's OK. Last year's swimming portion was only 600 yards, and this year it was a full 800 yards, or half a mile. So finishing 5 minutes slower than a year ago isn't too bad ( Read more... )

Summer may not officially be over, but the high school in my neighborhood is full and bustling, I had to put on a light sweater for the walk to the bus stop this morning, and the sun is going down before 8pm ... so that summer feeling is definitely on it's way out. Yesterday, I signed up to do a triathlon this summer. I don't remember having been hit in the head or drunk at the time, so I must be insane.
