Spent the evening last night working on a jigsaw puzzle - one of the guys at work wished me a safe NYE and I told him the worst danger I was facing was a paper cut. At least I saw in the new  year, with a few more hours afterwards.

Whoah! Just realised that all of my photobucket pics and mood pics have suddenly reappeared. When did that happen? Last time I noticed, nearly two years back before I disappeared off into the wilderness, all of my pics had been removed and photobucket wanted to charge me a few hundred dollars to use them again.

Is anyone else having trouble editing comments tonight? I've just had three attempts to edit one comment - I hope the recipient doesn't get three emails about it, and wonder what the fuss was all about. One line of a song haunted me all day today but I could not for the life of me remember what song it was from. My journal appears okay but my friends list is almost entirely in Russian. Does anyone else have this problem? I can't read other journals to see if it's widespread or if it's just me.

Anyone else having problems tonight? My comments are disappearing into thin air, although four attempts at commenting on byslantedlight's journal resulted in a duplication of entries. And it took forever for the dialogue box to appear here. Maybe all the little lj gremlins have been let free while their overlords are out attending pre-Olympics drinkies, I dunno.

Into work this morning; the city was like a ghost town and I'd not have been surprised to see tumbleweeds rolling down Queen St. Most of the little coffee places and eateries were shut, and there was hardly any traffic other than the usual buses in the city centre. I've found so many great fics over the years thanks to crack_van and it's become my go-to place when I'm curious about a fandom and looking for recs. Sometimes a rec makes a fic so compelling that I'll go read it, even if I have no idea about the fandom.
