2 week appointments

Today was my first appointment at 2 weeks instead of once a month.  It was Dr. Roxie's birthday. :)

So, I get there and apparently, my gestational diabetes test that I did at the last appointment was "done wrong" so, guess who had to do it again?!  *sigh*  So, I drank the icky drink (actually better this time - it was orange flavored...SO much better than that Hawaiian Punch stuff I had last time), and went back for my appointment with my doctor while I waited.  My doctor looked at the results that were given to her and they had said that I did fast (but I didn't).  So, I think I know why I needed to do it again.  She said the number looked good if I hadn't fasted (which was 109, for those interested).  She also said that my bloodwork was good in terms of anemia and such.  My fundal height is 29.  Anyway, I went back to get my blood drawn and headed out.

I stopped by Target to look at nursing bras.  Oh my...I can't believe I have to think about these things!  I picked one up for fun (it wasn't that expensive) so I could see if  it would work out.  I also browsed through the newborn clothes.  I didn't get very many of those (I probably won't need many, but I still need a couple) and picked up 2 outfits.  I found a bodysuit that says, "Hello, I'm new here" and I'm thinking that might be a good going-home outfit.  :)  I also picked up a little dress/bodysuit thing, too.  First clothes that I've bought for the little one!  Go me.

I also went to Jo-Ann's to pick up the items I needed for the sewing projects I've been putting on hold.  And, I dug up a gift card I found and a 25% off coupon I had.  I had no idea how much was on the gift card.  So, I figured I'd give it a try at the counter and see if I had $3 and change on it.  I found some cute flannels, picked up the odds and ends I needed, then decided to run through the scrapbooking aisle.  I haven't found a baby book yet, and figured I could make one.  Sure enough, I came across a great scrapbook album cover, a bunch of great paper, and some fun stuff to put inside.  AND, I had a 40% off coupon, so that expensive cover was nearly half off!  I got to the counter and my gift card had WAY more than $3!!  YAY!  I barely spent anything.  :D  Yay for coupons and found gift cards!

I did some research after I got home and found some great sites for making your own baby record and memory book.  This one was my favorite.  So, I'll start putting that together, so it's ready to add to when the baby gets here!
