I didn't know you haven't seen the Watchmen before now! Watchmen is really good movie and great grahpic novel. Knowing how good Watchmen is kinda makes me sad for Superman. I wonder if Zach Snyder was wrong man for the job or someone in control of movie just didn't get what Superman was about. I haven't seen the movie myself, but all my friends keep telling me Man of Steel got Superman all wrong. I really wanted a good superman movie. Now if the superhero's time! We should be getting strong comicbook movies not hints and misses.:( DC has been having a lot of misses of late ( ... )

I seen bits and pieces of the movie on tv, but I never watched it as a whole. It really was a great movie, and going by reactions quite respectful to the source material. I really loved the dark comedy, and all the themes that were represented. The soundtrack was great!! I'm thinking of buying it because it reminds of the weekends in the 80's where my dad would work on his car and yard work. He would have all these classic songs playing from those decades. I knew Jeff Dean Morgan could play The Comedian terrifically because of how he did YED!John and I seen some of his work on the Starz tv show Magic City. Alas, it was still eerie to see what The Comedian does in the movie. I knew JDM could do it, but damn he still gave me chills lol.

Man, I hated the Man of Steel. It was truthfully worse than The Dark Knight Rises!! It totally got the characters of Superman/Clark, Jonathan Kent, and action completely wrong. I've been reading what Snyder and Goyer's comments on explaining why they did the things they did, and they totally didn't get ( ... )

I couldn't agree more about JDM. I knew he's be good but he was even better then I thought he'd be ( ... )

JDM is really good in Magic City. I haven't watched much recently since it is on during odd hours or when I'm busy. I just know I want an Archie vehicle in the future lol.

I too had the same feeling when I saw the trailer where Jonathan Kent says "maybe" to having those kids die in the bus. I'm used to Jonathan being protecting, but man all they did in the story was make him too overprotective. Plus it was more being "told" what a great man Clark is, and not really seeing it IMO. They really did a horrible job with Jonathan/Clark relationship. Smallville and Superman: The Movie did a far better job. Heck, I thought the three part pilot "The Last Son of Krypton" in Superman: The Animated Series was far better made in writing, directing, and etc. I too thought we are going to have to wait until I'm 50 to see another new stab at Superman done right on the big screen lol ( ... )

*gulp* YESSS!!! Superman literally snapped Zod's neck full blown Linda Blair style. Superman pretty much fights Zod in both Smallville and Metropolis. He doesn't move the fight to some remote location. Instead he fights him in a populated city, and Zod is using his heat vision ready to fry a family. So Superman snaps his neck, and then Superman screams in anguish. Lois comes over and gives him a hug, and that's pretty much it. After that Superman is a happy-go-lucky guy. It was horrible. Oh, and Metropolis and Smallville were pretty much destroyed to the point of 9/11 size *sniff*. I mean literally millions of people were killed and/or hurt while Lois and Superman are kissing. Superman was reckless, careless, and....ugh. Plus the action lasted for 30 minutes!! After doing a rewatch a few years ago I found a new appreciation for Smallville. Yet, after watching Man of Steel I discovered an even more new appreciation for the show lol. The series wasn't perfect, but they were respectful and the series showed how Clark became the man who ( ( ... )

Oh man! They really don't get the most basic thing about Superman! I'm going to read your review. If you are going to cross that massive line of having Superman kill the very least you can do is give it proper judge afterwards. A scream of pain is not enough. Nor do hugs from Lois make up things. Clearly WB/DC was trying to go big with the city and loss of life, but you cannot do things like that just willy-nilly! And people are dying while Superman is kissing Lois? Blah! Superman is so much smarter then having a battle in the middle of a city with massive loss of life if he can help it. The whole thing just makes me go "Why?!". Smallville had it's ups and downs but IMO by the end of the series it got Superman, it got who Clark was meant to be. And you can forgive those times when Clark was less then his best self because that's what growing up is! Why make a Superman movie is you are too afraid to stand by the core of the character? Why not pick another DC character where things are more intune with who they really are? I get that ( ... )

Cool beans :). My review is pretty much a wild rant, but it was great to get off my chest lol.

You nailed it on the head hun. I was tougher on Man of Steel because it is grounded in that so-called "realism". Smallville was racked over the coals by so many, but looking back I think people were too hard on the show. I know I was guilty of it when I was involved in the crazy fandom. However, once I got out of it I realized what a great show it was. How they kept true to who Clark Kent and Co. were. Heck, I felt the new SV comic books are better written than whatever I saw on Crap of Steel.

Yeah the Avengers tried to keep things in check. I love how the group tried to keep things contained to part of the city. I know it was so they could control things, but it was also to save lives!
Exactly!! Joss Whedon is a ( ... )

HAHA! You know me I'm full of passion especially on things that bug the crap out of me lol.

I was pretty hard on Smallville too, specially as it was just airing. Being in the fandom is wraps everything. It's why I'm not in the Doctor Who fandom and Once Upon a Time fandom outside of group of friends. My jets have cooled and I've grown up a bit myself now. I am still a little iffy on the middle years, but I love the begining and the ending years. It was great show that took on a lot and did pretty well in the end.I totally agree *nods*. I think fandoms of anything can ruin an experience of something. There are some positives with online fandoms, but in this day and age I haven't seen too much of them *shrugs*. I do find some places to chat, but they are very very small communities hehe ( ... )
