Cool beans :). My review is pretty much a wild rant, but it was great to get off my chest lol.

Smallville had it's ups and downs but IMO by the end of the series it got Superman, it got who Clark was meant to be. And you can forgive those times when Clark was less then his best self because that's what growing up is!

You nailed it on the head hun. I was tougher on Man of Steel because it is grounded in that so-called "realism". Smallville was racked over the coals by so many, but looking back I think people were too hard on the show. I know I was guilty of it when I was involved in the crazy fandom. However, once I got out of it I realized what a great show it was. How they kept true to who Clark Kent and Co. were. Heck, I felt the new SV comic books are better written than whatever I saw on Crap of Steel.

Yeah the Avengers tried to keep things in check. I love how the group tried to keep things contained to part of the city. I know it was so they could control things, but it was also to save lives!
Exactly!! Joss Whedon is a fan of the comics and Avengers. He knows these characters like the back of his hand. He knew Captain America would deliver orders to make sure they contained the damage the best they could. Heck, Iron Man pretty much died saving NYC!! He gave his life. I did see any of these acts of heroism from Superman in the new movie *shrugs*.

It sounds hugely complicated. In some ways I like the simpleness of not having mutants in the movies's universe, because things are just so big! But in other ways there is so much richness missing because the x-man and F4 aren't involved.

It is complicated *nods*. I don't think Whedon and Marvel will put the mutant gene to heavily in Avengers 2. It sounds like from interviews he is focusing on the interesting dynamic Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver will bring to the Avengers. Meanwhile, in the new X-Men movie the storyline is far more complicated between time travel, Sentinels, and brutal alternate future. You know me I love both groups, so I hope it all works out. Btw, did you hear they are rebooting the F4? It's something I don't mind, but I will miss Chris Evans' Torch and Michael's Thing, but at least we still have Evans in Captain America hehe.

Sounds cool! Anything that fixes the awful third x-man movie and the beloved characters who got shafted in it is good in my books.

With time travel involved a new future will have to be made. I don't see how it couldn't *shrugs*. The third X-Men movie is the only one I can't stand in the franchaise. There were aspects of it I enjoyed, but it just floundered in the end. I didn't like how they did The Dark Phoenix at all. I love all of the other X-Men movies though. It's going to be quite exciting to be a X-Men fan next year!!

Btw, I finished Rick Riordan's The Serpent's Shadow and The Lost Hero and WOW!! I wrote short reviews about each book on my livejournal here:

I'm just curious to hear your thoughts on those books as well. I know you are way ahead of me on the reading this time hehe.

I love your review! It's full of passion:D

I was pretty hard on Smallville too, specially as it was just airing. Being in the fandom is wraps everything. It's why I'm not in the Doctor Who fandom and Once Upon a Time fandom outside of group of friends. My jets have cooled and I've grown up a bit myself now. I am still a little iffy on the middle years, but I love the begining and the ending years. It was great show that took on a lot and did pretty well in the end.

WB/DC should've took advance of Joss for Wonder Woman when they had the chance. He knows heroes, actions and good story telling.

Yes, I did hear that about F4. I'm really going to miss Chris and Micheal too. Mick was the best Thing! I am excited for the recast of Susan as much as I love Jessica. IMO it didn't work too well trying to white wash the actress. Maybe a younger or flesher take on the character would be great. It worked for Spiderman and X-Men! Shame they couldn't just keep one of the actors like X-Man did with Huge Jackmen. If the casting is prefect don't change it lol

Agreed about X-Man the Last Stand. It's one of the few movies I walked out of seeing with big angry face. I had such high hopes. At least we got a reboot to carry on with the beloved characters.

I am still one book behind in brother/sister series, but I'm so glad you got to read the Lost Hero! I love that book so much. I'll look at your review for that one, but not the only one as I do plan to read that series if I ever get the time.

HAHA! You know me I'm full of passion especially on things that bug the crap out of me lol.

I totally agree *nods*. I think fandoms of anything can ruin an experience of something. There are some positives with online fandoms, but in this day and age I haven't seen too much of them *shrugs*. I do find some places to chat, but they are very very small communities hehe.

You know I did a major semi-rewatch prior to S9's airing, but I really grew to love the middle years myself. I don't know if it was because I watched S6-S8 primarly on dvd, stayed clear of the fandom *shrugs*, or because I was older when I watched them. When I watched all of the seasons from beginning to end I was really blown away with what they did with SV. It's totally leaps and bounds over Crap of Steel.

I was always mixed about Jessica Alba, but I did enjoy her interaction with Evans. I wonder who they are cast for the F4 family, but if they can somehow keep Michael I would totally love that but they might not do that. It sounds like they want a fresh start like what they did with The Amazing Spider-Man. I'm so excited that the new Spider-Man series will span over four movies!! Sounds like they have an outline on what they want to accomplish.

Agreed about X-Man the Last Stand. It's one of the few movies I walked out of seeing with big angry face. I had such high hopes. At least we got a reboot to carry on with the beloved characters.

You know in a strange way without X-Men: The Last Stand we might not have gotten X-Men: Days of Future Past. If it was well made, then the new future might have been something we might not like really. It's kinda neat how things work out. I just hope it means the X-Men can save Jean Grey and Cyclops (afterall we never saw his body!!).

D'oh, I forgot you were behind on The Kane Chronicles. Yea, totally skip that part of the review. I really loved it. I would totally recommend picking up the paperback version of The Serpent's Shadow, so you can read the short story where Percy Jackson and Carter Kane meet. It goes right into the Heroes of Olympus novels.
