Camp turned out to be exactly what I needed. My kids were perfect and had a great time. Th'Boy was a huge help and worked his little butt off. I've been asked to work on an astronomy area at the Cub Camp and while my hopes of a giant planisphere have yet to be realized I have managed to come up with some neat stuff. I did some training this weekend. It's the second stage of a certain Program and a lot of Leaders don't get around to it but I've wanted to go for a long time.

The iPod was never "lost" -- it just wasn't where I thought it was.  I found it when I cleaned out the bag of tins(for the fourth time) that we had thought of using to make ice cream.  I spent the rest of camp having to admit I was an idiot, I'd made a big announcement that I'd lost it and offered a reward.  Aside from that and having to miss the ( Read more... )

It was brutally cold last night.  I ended up in two pairs of pj pants, a t-shirt, fleece vest and fleece sweatshirt with my wool campfire blanket and a fleece one in my sleeping bag.

We went skiing and I didn't fall.  We made ice cream and it was only partly a disaster.  The kids have been awesome (as usual).  Some of my pals from the summer staff ( Read more... )
