Alas, the playwright Wendy Wasserstein has died at 55, (obit at NYTimes) from lymphoma. The Heidi Chronicles along with Jane Wagner's Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe were the inspirations for a play I wrote which was staged while at university; I don't think any playwright influenced me more at that time.
