Hi everyone! It’s been a really looong time since I posted!
KyomoJuri has been my favorite SixTONES combi for quite a few years now, but my love for them and the group is recently leveling up. That’s why I decided to translate the July 2022 issue of Steady magazine!
Q: What’s the charm of the other?
Juri: Isn’t it Kyomo’s androgynous feature? I also think he’s beautiful even though I’m a guy. Like his side profile and the quality of his skin. Moreover, from a perspective of a woman, he’s the type who will tickle your motherly instincts and makes you want to take care of him. I think that’s probably what would stimulate your love [for him]?
Taiga: Juri is the opposite of myself. His [charms] are his manliness, dangerousness, and viciousness. It’s just his aura. He’s someone who looks good in an all back hairstyle. *laughs*
Q: For the both of you, what kind of existence is love?
Juri: I always want to be in love. Isn’t it fun? It makes me excited. It becomes my motivation in work - “I have a date so I wanna hurry and finish work soon.” [Love is] the type that will make me do my best. Since it only has a positive effect, I always want to be in love. Love is different from marriage so I think you don’t need to be too careful?
Taiga: We’re opposite on this too. *laughs* I don’t seek adventure or thrill in love. I think it’s best if I can be calm and comfortable if we’re together. I have a lot of work that involves hardships, so I want to be supported and spoiled…. That’s why I probably think of wanting to be in love during tough times or when I feel tired.
Juri: The two of us have been together since middle school but we haven’t felt like the other is in love [with someone], right? Instead of love stories, all we talk about are silly topics. *laughs* That’s pretty much our priority. Love is important, but work is number one right now.
Q: What do you think the two of you would be in your 40s?
Taiga: I think Juri won’t change? It seems like he’ll still goof around with his family and friends from his hometown.
Juri: I can’t imagine what Kyomo will be like. *laughs*
Taiga: Yeah, I can’t imagine how myself would be too. *laughs* Even though I thought I’d be the cool adult with sex appeal in my late 20s, I’m gradually becoming more childish. Though it feels good because I became like this from being true to how I want to live. But I want to have a family when I’m in my 40s. My goal is to escape from being a paper driver by the time I become a dad.
Juri: Maybe having a family is impossible for me. Of course I want one, but right now, I don’t have the confidence to love just one person forever. It’s because everyone is cute and I end up liking them all. I might get married when bigamy becomes allowable. *laughs*
Q: What’s your relationship with each other?
Taiga: Work relationship. When we were juniors, I didn’t imagine we’d end up in the same group. I thought he was a flashy guy at that time, but I was surprised that he’s actually an earnest person. I noticed that a lot when we became SixTONES.
Juri: A work buddy. It’s been 13 years since we met, but we only hung out in private once. Kyomo only went to hang out in my house so that it could be our topic for our radio show. *laughs* We don’t hang out outside work, but he feels like a work partner.
Q: What’s something common between the two of you?
Taiga: Our silhouettes look alike at first glance. That’s why Juri asks me what hairstyle I’d do during concerts and we adjust so that we don’t overlap.
Juri: The fact that we don’t try to reduce our distance. It may sound dry, but it’s fine since we enjoy at work. We also play the guitar and sing in the dressing room. We have some similar interests such as music that we used to like.
Q: What’s something different between the two of you?
Taiga: Juri has no interest in food and I have too much interest in it. *laughs* Juri orders delivery than go out to eat, while I go to this one restaurant just to eat grilled prawns. I’m worried about Juri’s eating lifestyle. You’re already around 30 years old, so take care of your body. *laughs*
Juri: Besides the common thing I mentioned earlier, there’s none. Our thinking and intuition are totally different. I’m into accessories, watches, cars, and those that feel like every man’s desire. But Kyomo doesn’t ride cars and he’s obsessed with his card collection.
Q: What do you look forward to in doing solo work and group work?
Taiga: For better or for worse, it’s comfortable [doing group work] because we can rely on each other like “this thing is for/ assigned to this person.” In solo work, you can’t rely on the others but you can take on the challenge. But there’s pressure in that part too. I think it’s like that for everyone?
Juri: I think of solo work as a way for more people to come to SixTONES’ concerts. It’s like muscle training that you do to build up, not something you enjoy. I still do it while enjoying but group work is still my top priority.
And that’s it! It was quite funny even though they sank the ship lol.
Hope you enjoyed reading! :)
