This is the weekend Lizzy has all of her out-of-school holiday performances, it just so happens!  This afternoon it was her chamber music concert at the Hoff School, which was interesting in that there were food booths lined up along the sides of the large music room, and people sat at tables while they listened to the concert (which consisted of 4 ( Read more... )

Lizzy is in a chamber orchestra at a local music school, and I drive her down (about 30 minutes away) every Monday evening from 7 to 8.  The conductor is the wonderful Mr. Schwartz that Kat had for private cello lessons until she left for college, and he says very nice things about Lizzy, who is in the first chair in the viola section ( Read more... )

Last evening Sally and I took Lizzy and her friend Jovie to Playland Amusement Park. :)

The Park was opened in 1928, and has a great art deco feel to it! And there is no admission charge!

Sally suggested I might want to take a vacation day off from work today so I could spend a little time with Lizzy before school starts the first week in September, and so I did! :)
