Orchestra Rehearsal

Nov 19, 2007 21:48

Lizzy is in a chamber orchestra at a local music school, and I drive her down (about 30 minutes away) every Monday evening from 7 to 8.  The conductor is the wonderful Mr. Schwartz that Kat had for private cello lessons until she left for college, and he says very nice things about Lizzy, who is in the first chair in the viola section.  :)

I sit in the rehearsal room and listen, and it brings back memories of when I was in orchestra, too!  ;)  But these 10 to 15 year olds are so talented and make such beautiful music, it is really fun to be an observer to that and track their progress!  The first violinist, who is probably in 8th grade I would guess, gets such wonderful tone from her instrument and she is so proficient that I can relax and just enjoy listening to her, not fearing that she will make a mistake!  Lizzy loves her playing, too!

How great it is for Lizzy to be a part of this, and indirectly for me, too!  :)
