Wow. A year ago this past weekend, I invited some friends over. We had a party, and trashed the kitchen.

No, really, we trashed the kitchen. As in, everything down to the studs went into the dumpster.

I did not know you as well as I should have, nor nearly as well as I would have liked.

The wisteria is blooming. It always surprises me; somehow I think of it as being a summer blossom, not late May/early June, and so I'm always startled to walk out onto the patio and see the flower heads falling from the stems. I haven't looked yet to see if we have a decent number of bees attending it this year. I hope so ( Read more... )

Five years (and 120,000 miles) ago today I brought the BlueBeary home.

I ought to stop and get her a birthday present, like touchup paint or the rear-window wiper blade she needs.

Or at least a nice wash.

I spent some time weeding the iris bed this past weekend. They're running a bit behind their usual schedule; only a few white or nearly-white blooms have opened. I've come to expect a cascade of purple spilling over into the driveway by May 24th each year.
