Sometimes, just sometimes, I get frustrated with my relationship. In particular my partner hiding things from me. I accept that he has a right to his privacy, and I don't begrudge that. ...surprised me this afternoon.  I was sitting in a cafe on Marrickville Road, watching The Blob on my iPod when he cam up from behind me and surprised me.  He should have been at work, but nicked out to get something to eat, and thought he might find me at the cafe.  Man, I was like a kid at Christmas...

The year is finally over, and I'm happy to say that it ended on a a far pleasant note than I feared it would when the year was just beginning.  Thinking back over everything that has happened this year, I have to say it was nothing short of eventful, difficult and life changing.

On Wednesday night, I'm cooking dinner for a good mate and his potential beau, and I'm having a touch of trouble coming up with a menu. I want the meal to be impressive, of course, but not so impressive as to appear pretentious. Here's what I've come up with so far.

I noticed that one of the first plants I bought Jyan a couple of month ago, a peace lilly, had started to flower.  One white flower bud was pushing it's way up through the foliage and into the light.  This morning I noticed 4 more flower buds doing the same.  I can't think of a better metaphor for our love than this.

It just keeps getting better.

It's been almost 6 weeks since I moved to Sydney to be with Jyan.  I can't believe that it has been that long already, and yet sometimes it feels like I've been here forever.  Sydney is rapidly becoming my home, and I really love being here.  I've becoming familiar with streets and buss routes, and feel comfortable enough now to use the train.  ( Read more... )
