I went to Williamsburg for the day yesterday to spend a few hours at Marscon. When I got there I saw "Yuri Night Celebration" on the schedule -- not too surprising for a sci fi con, right? An 11 year old girl in Wisconsin has died of diabetes-related complications. The condition was easily treatable, but the mother, a firm believer in prayer, refused to seek medical attention for her daughter, ignoring the pleas of relatives to get the kid treatment.
