Today in my local paper the top half of one of the interior pages was taken up with a story on the 30th anniversary of the Jonestown massacre. The bottom half was an advertisement for one of televangelist Pat Robertson's businesses. What more needs to be said, really?

It's Armistice Day, and I'm going to spend a big chunk of it in class talking about strategic bombing and the Allied decision to maximize enemy civilian casualties in the war after "the war to end all wars."

Ironic, neh?
