This is why I read Peter David's blog. Best thing I've seen all day, and I watched multiple Golden Girls episodes* and "The Beast Below"**, saw a picture of Neil Gaiman with Amber Benson***, and read Spike #4. Hee.

HAHAH! _Photo_ of me as a Green Lantern. Oh I WISH I was skinny enough to wear spandex without being immediately embarrassed to death. I'd probably go for the classic Hal Jordan/used to be everybody's version--"dorky" white gloves 'n' all. One thing about that uniform--if you're a woman wearing that, you're a female superhero wearing a turtleneck and flats. Much easier to fight evil in ( ... )

The line in question is from "The Christmas Invasion," which, if you recall, is the special that goes between "Parting of the Ways" and "New Earth"* that you got confused with "Runaway Bride" the first time through? BizOp did a lovely job of explaining the scene and why that macro had the effect on her that it did, but I've deleted it because it has spoilers involving a major plot development for a supporting character you already know but haven't yet seen post-S1/27. I'm going to repost it as a reply to this comment in case you want to read it.

* Uh... The order is actually "Parting of the Ways," the Children in Need special (sometimes called "Barcelona," "Christmas Invasion, "Attack of the Graske," _then_ "New Earth," and I definitely recommend you watch them all that way ("Attack of the Graske" is very silly and frustrating, in that you can't actually answer the questions and have to look on, helpless, as "you" continually let The Doctor down, but it has some merit).
