Spent some time whacking weeds in the yard last night, then crashed out at about 9:00. Pretty sure that the pooch-worry has me kinda drained.

Sadie is feeling much better; she ate quite a bit of her food, and there was even some tail waggin' going on a few minutes ago. She's still not quite her old pooch self, but the tail wagging makes me very happy.

I'm taking Sadie in for a surgical consult tomorrow afternoon. The clinic is in Inver Grove Heights.

Sadie is better this morning. She was hungry enough to eat the deli turkey that I offered her containing the antibiotics & pain killers, which is an improvement from yesterday. She still has a bit of a fever, but the swelling looks to have gone down some.

I just spent a few minutes giving my sad pooch some love. She still has the fever, but she did drink some water. Still no interest in food, but she sure liked the gentle petting and wanted more. She's pretty much sacked out for the night.

I'll see how she is in the morning.

It's frustrating that she can't tell me what's wrong. I feel helpless.

I think Sadie blew a tire on the walk tonight. Her driver's-side rear paw is... well, she's having some difficulty lifting it, and sometimes she stumbles because of it. Tonight she started limping.

We might take tomorrow night's walkies off.

Awakened by storm-addled pets. I think they were probably just using the storm as an excuse for more petting, but they woke me up enough to stay up for a bit.

I'd really like to write something with depth and vigor, but es no mue taco, as they say in the nether regions of my brain ( Read more... )
