Tyler's grandfather died today.

When I was four my dog died. It was a congenital heart defect. I think they put her down, but I don't know exactly. Four years old. My mom picked me up, crying, and told me that she was gone. My mom is dead, demyelinated and gallbladder-less, and so I am coordinating with two men, 50 and 60-some, who've recently had hip replacements, about setting up care for my grandfather, who fell down and broke his hip and will probably never be able to use stairs again, and can't really connect with the reality of his limitations, or for that ( Read more... )

Had dinner with a dear friend the other night, who I hadn't seen since this summer at the Country Fair. Of course we got to talking about my mom. Going through pictures from the trips up to Massachusetts. Mostly it's sad. The pictures are beautiful and interesting and worth having, maybe someday worth sharing if I can figure out how.
