It's been quite some time since my last public post so I figured I'd just go ahead and do a brief update of what's been going on bullet-point style:

• My parents are getting divorced and I am currently not talking to my family.  They're all insane.  Woohoo!

A basic summary:

• Parkland college was closed today due to a bomb threat, apparently.  Awesome... not like I needed to study today...
• Golden Compass is out.  Fuck yeah.
• Rachel and I found the cutest little house on Prarie Street and we think we're going to get it.  It's a house, yo!
• I can now cook chicken and beef from a raw state.  Go me.

In other news Amy and I officially said "goodbye" to the farm early this morning.

And then I got my yarn that I ordered.

Well... that's just fantastic.

The good news is that Rachel and I had a knitting/watching a weird-ass movie party. It was good. I made another scarf (for those of you keeping track at home, that makes 3 out of the 6, plus the one that Rachel probably finished last night. We're amazing. What can I say?).

So today I went to the Champaign County Humane Society for volunteer orientation.  Everything was going well, overwhelmed by cuteness and too many feelings, etc., when I started to feel anxious and panic~y.  Not too unusual for me, so I figured I'd just work through it until it went away (like most of my stuff in the past few months).  ( Read more... )

I'm sick and it's no fun.

I couldn't sleep at all last night which I'm sure was no big help.

On the bright side I taught myself stockinette stitch and 2x2 rib stitch for my knitting which makes me really happy.  I went to Needleworks and ordered two skeins to Brown Sheep Company's Worsted Limeade yarn because I'm going to start making this adorable ( Read more... )
