So today I went to the Champaign County Humane Society for volunteer orientation. Everything was going well, overwhelmed by cuteness and too many feelings, etc., when I started to feel anxious and panic~y. Not too unusual for me, so I figured I'd just work through it until it went away (like most of my stuff in the past few months). Unfortunately, it started getting worse and worse. By the time we were outside being shown how to walk the dogs and play with them, I had to crouch down on the ground because I was getting dizzy. By the time we had gotten back to the volunteer entrance to take the dog back inside, my vision was mostly black and I couldn't hear at all (on top of being dizzy, nauseous, etc.). I finally decided that I wouldn't be able to wait until I could pull the volunteer coordinator aside and quietly dismiss myself and I interrupted his explanation of... something... to say that I wasn't feeling well and was actually blacking out (I might add that I couldn't even hear the words coming out of my mouth).
So I went into the lounge where there was a random dog ("Baxter", I found out by his name tag) that kept me company while I got bad cramps, dizziness, shakes, nausea, a headache (that's right... my body turned against me completely... bad). Finally Matthew was able to pick me up (after leaving work mid-shift) and take me to get something to eat (but not before having a bloody nose meltdown himself... we're fallin' apart, folks!).
I wasn't able to do anything today really after that... which was super sad because Rachel and I were going to knit together, which I really would have had fun doing (I haven't actually had a knitting buddy in so long! Here we come Hogwarts scarves!!!).
The good news:
These scarves are super fast to knit and they look awesome (Harry Potter, Harry Potter, ooo! Harry Potter, Harry Potter, yeah!)
It's looking like Rachel and I are going to get to see Cirque du Soleil, which I'm really excited about.
I have awesome back-up support when I feel like shit... hooray...
Kittens are adorable... there were five grey cats sleeping on each other in the Humane Society... PILE OF CUTENESS!!! ... no... seriously...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand done!
