Okay, let's try to write some sense first for now. I didn't get sick after all-Yay!-so maybe it was just a weird throat moment. I was a little stuffy the next day but now I'm healthy and fit again

Who does read back covers? Especially in the middle of a series, because if you already like it, you don't need to read the back cover to see if it's something you'd like. We don't even read the back covers that we've written. (We got a comment back from an editor on one of the back covers we wrote (Athena reminds me it was saying that our cover for volume 5 of Kamichama Karin chu was perfect), and we were like, "What did we write again

Ha. I read back covers. But it's more of an afterthought usually, and sometimes they drive me crazy with how misleading they are. Still, this was black text on dark blue background-it really didn't work too well. Ah well

Yeah, actually probably a lot more people read the back covers, or at least the online summaries, because Ysa keeps telling us about the big scandal when the summary used "she" for Yuki Sohma. And from the summaries we have read, it really does look like the people who wrote them weren't paying that much attention. But on the other hand, it can be fun when they're misleading, as long as they don't explicitly say something that doesn't actually happen. We saw a preview for an anime episode once where it totally made it look like one of the characters was going to kill his brother, just by using vague dialogue and clever editing. It's fun to go back and see it and be like, "But that's not what happened at all! You tricky editors

Ooh, okay. I was trying to think of someone from SekaIchi who looked anything like Hidaka-sensei draws herself (since the sidebar was about her looking like that character), but I couldn't think of anyone, so I wondered if it might be another series. Thanks for un-confusing me!
And yeah, you're right that staying true to the original is the best all around. If only you guys could translate all the manga I read! I understand your point about a word like "fervently" being more formal(?) or literary a term than "fiercely" or the like. Still... that wording left a really strong impression on me of Ri's love for his little sister (possibly a stronger impression than "fiercely" because it's a more unusual word? (but then, maybe it's adding on meanings that the original didn't have...)), so I didn't think it was a terrible choice.
There is a Sugino Takumi who has written for HanaYume, but as far as I can tell she only has one book out (there's a picture of it here) so I don't know if it's the same one, or if she would use the same

Right, now that you mention it, Sachiko does look a little bit like Ageha, to whom Hidaka-sensei has also been compared.
To his credit, the "geki-rabu" thing was probably meant to have impact for being out of character, so using any unusual word probably works. I guess. (<--Always jealous.)
Hmm, Sugino-sensei's style... looks like it could match... or not... The bonus page is all kind of SD and doesn't really give us anything to go off of.
Yay! Write a letter! Go for it! Fight!! It's true--everyone we know of who's read it likes it a lot a lot a lot, so why does I Hate You♥ keep falling under the radar!? Why!!??
Oh! I was just reading over bits of 6 Hate last night and noticed a mention of Sugino Takumi's full name in the last sidebar. So it looks like it probably is her! But it seems a little sad that she hasn't written more manga... maybe she does other awesome-cool stuff that we just don't know about!
