Contract-to-hire worked out after all. I start Monday. Hourly's below my usual but overtime will help. Time to get blackfyr up and going again for sure.

It went well, I think. Everyone I talked to clearly knew their jobs, they liked what I had to say and even said so at times without prompting, and while some aspects of the job will be a challenge, such as the hours, it's one I said I was willing to meet. I have an interview in SF tomorrow at 3 PM. Three-month contract with a chance to be hired full-time. Company has a fascinating approach to how to handle its employees, too, so while the job's kind of lower on the totem pole, it has room to move up fast. We'll see how it flies.

It's not much pay. It's piecework, in fact. It can't and won't substitute for a full-time job. But I'm now a Socialwriter on Gather. My first submission is here, discussing Tiger Woods' reception at the Masters and the ad banners someone bought to fly over the course.

This means I'm a paid writer. Holy crap.
