Rent and other fiscal updates (need help, looking up perhaps)
I should've been flogging this harder, but so it stands.
Thanks to donors larger and smaller (and HUGE thanks to all of you!), we got in around a tenth of the stated $3500. Some bills that use PayPal for auto-debit bit into that (on the bright side, it didn't bite into food money). We also just made the last COBRA payment we're going to barely afford and that account's in the hole due to same. Of course, that's money that'll go to my landlord next month. He knows this, which is helping his mood.
Right now, I feel safer aiming for $750, which is a month's rent. It's a good sign we're trying and he won't lose more from us this month. I'd love more, but one step at a time. I stare at $3500 and my eyes cross.
As for other updates, I'm having a conversation tonight with an online friend. He's wanting to give me work to do that he feels is a good fit for my intellect, which he respects highly. I have no idea what the compensation will be, so I can't bank on that until we talk. But he's been loyal and honest with me for the time I've known him. Whatever it is, I will get.
And @blackfyr's nocturnal habits have returned with a vengeance, so getting to where he can pick up his disability app forms is the challenge of the body clock. But we'll meet that. This also affects our ability to check into other forms of aid, of course.
Meanwhile, our AAA membership and my driver's license have lapsed. In a word, whee.
But. That conversation could bear good fruit. I don't want to end on the negatives.
