I'm happy to say that I actually made it to church this morning. I went to an Evangelical Free church called Grace, and today's focus was on Worship and missions. We would sing a few praise songs, then someone would speak about a missions trip they had been on or were going to be going on, and it was a blessing to hear what they had to say.

I'm celebrating my birthday a little early this year, and tonight I had a mini birthday celebration dinner with my parents and a couple of friends from church. After dinner we went to their house for cake and ice cream and visited for a little while longer.

This past week at work has about done me in. I think I'm ready to retire! lol I am so happy to be able to go home for a while. My mother and I will be leaving for the missions trip to West Virginia on Sunday afternoon, and I'm really looking forward to it. My sister will be coming up tomorrow as well with the kids, so I will be able to see them for ( Read more... )

It was nice to have dinner with friends tonight. My friend Lauren will be going back home to the Bahamas on Friday, and she will surely be missed over the summer. She has been a great blessing to me this past semester. It's strange how you can know someone for years, but not become friends until much later. These last few days have been lovely, in that I have found a couple of old friends and classmates over at MySpace, something that I did not expect to do. Suzanne has come to visit me for a few days and I am oh so happy. :) Not sure what we will do in these next few days, but we will have fun. I think we will definitely be going to see a movie. Derailed looks like it could be good. Suzanne loved four-wheeling, so if the weather is good we may do that.

I just finished talking with my friend Pedro who lives in Cancun Mexico, and I was very glad to hear from him and to know he was ok. His mother's house, where they were staying together, was damaged pretty severely but thankfully it can be repaired. If you could see the pictures you would be amazed. It has been raining for the last two days now, and I have been very lazy. It is getting colder too, and we have yet to start using our heat, so it's a bit chilly in the house.
