I'm celebrating my birthday a little early this year, and tonight I had a mini birthday celebration dinner with my parents and a couple of friends from church. After dinner we went to their house for cake and ice cream and visited for a little while longer.

I will be going home tomorrow to my parents for a week. Ron will also be going. I miss my parents and I miss my cats. I also miss my church. The drive home is beautiful, but I find it a bit more draining than driving to Baltimore. Driving through two mountain ranges is fun, but for some reason I also find it tiring. Today I turn 25 years old. I still sometimes feel like I should have done so much more than I have, but I know that's silly. I still also feel like I am on the brink of experiencing big life experiences, ones I look forward to and pray I'm ready for. My friend Primett's father, Primus, passed away and his funeral will be on Tuesday. He was in his seventies and died peacefully in his sleep. When I talked to Primett a while ago she said that the doctors didn't expect him to live much longer with his heart being as bad as it was. She is only 25 years old, and it's so early to lose a father. He was ( Read more... )

The last couple nights I have been helping out with VBS at my church with the fifth and sixth graders. Those kids crack me up and are a joy to be around. This evening we went on a hay ride and stopped to make smores around a camp fire. This camp fire was right next to a large corn field and the kids spent a lot of the time in the corn field.
