I'm not sure if I like the war movie bits or the bleak landscape Western parts more.  Also trying to figure out where the Ape Promised Land is supposed to be.  I mean they start off in the Redwood National Forest, then supposedly cross some mountains, then a desert and end up at a big lake.  Is that Lake Powell ( Read more... )

An enjoyable enough bit of Western violent fluff.  No where near the level of either the original tM7 or Seven Samurai.  But the characters (with the exception of the waaaaaay over the top Robber Baron villain) were an ok bunch of character tics and tragic back story simulating actual character.  Also I always forget how huge D'Onfrio has gotten.  ( Read more... )

I kind of feel both "The D is silent" bits were aimed at me since I kept pronouncing it when talking to the roommate about going. But a fun Justice From a Gun movie, though exceedingly bloody and violent. But also darkly funny and moving. I think this was an even better movie than "Inglorious Basterds"...

Once again just getting the last month done before the current one ends. Starting off with the Kevin Anderson edited Blood Lite III: Aftertaste urban fantasy anthology. Movie was fun. Crazy stupid, but fun. I mean seriously, the aliens were here to steal our gold. Because of its universal scarcity.
