Happy Thing Meme - Day 7
And again, while everything else sucked, it was something small that made me happy today
Day 7
Today was the start of my niece's next guitar class. I had to juggle my schedule a little so that I could take her to the class. It started out being something really annoying, but for her I will do most anything. On the way home from class, she was talking about how some friend of hers was bragging about being related to some famous person or other. She's 10 and she talks a mile a minute, so I don't always catch everything she says, especially when I'm driving. So, I told her that she could inform her friend that she was a distant cousin to not one, but two US Presidents. That led to a bunch more questions, and in the span of our 20 minute drive, I gave her a brief rundown of some of the more notable ancestors in our family.
I'm pretty sure we'll be breaking out the family history stuff this weekend so she can see the whole shebang. My niece has caught the bug, and I know she won't be happy until she's found her own piece of the family puzzle. Sharing one of my passions with my niece makes me incredibly happy.
