I probably should update here, but really, what's there to say?
I finally got hot water back after five days. Since my lease is up soon, I've looked at a bunch of apartments. None of them are in a FiOS service area, or affordable. It's okay, I can't afford to move anyway. Not like I want to, either. I do plan on getting midevil on them when it comes to fixing shit, though. I'm going to go into my lease re-signing armed with notes of what doesn't work, and make sure they fix it, and in a timely fashion. I'm sick of that extension cord duct taped to the bedroom wall. Enough is enough.
Looking forward to two very busy days off. I think I'll be going to sleep early on Monday night and just sacrificing the entire day after work. Same with Tuesday. If I can force myself to bed early both nights, maybe I won't sleep through all of my days off again. With two full business days to do the shit piled up on the to-do list, I might actually get caught up and be able to do some of the things I actually want to do, not just what I need to.
I'm glad I bought those extra work shirts. Now I can wait until my days off to do the laundry, rather than being forced to stay up even later tonight in order to have clean work clothes.
Been looking at the Palm Pre for when it comes time to replace my phone. It seems pretty nice so far, and with the addition of
Classic on the Pre, and
Missing Sync on the desktop, I won't have to throw away all my existing apps and data to move to Palm's new OS.
Bought a netbook at a ridiculously good price. It's coming FedEx, so I expect it sometime before the end of this week... hopefully Thursday, so I get most of a day to play with it. I wouldn't normally spend money on something like this, but I get the feeling it's going to be very handy to have when I take the trip.
Speaking of the trip, I don't remember if I've posted here that the trip back to Vermont is going to happen. I'm taking from the 8th to the 19th of September off to drive my way up, and to do some things on the way, and while I'm there. Details are still fuzzy, I need time to sit down with some Google) maps and a calendar, and see how much time I'm going to spend where. I plan on a full day (maybe two) in Syracuse, doing the things and seeing the people that I didn't get a chance to when I was up there for the wedding. I plan on making a stop (or two) in Georgia on the way up (and/or back down), the one in Syracuse, one in Albany (to pay
k_fuego a visit) and then several places in Vermont while I'm there. I was surprised to learn that Rutland now has Sprint coverage, even EVDO data. So depending on the hotel I end up getting, I should be all set to actually be able to use my phone. I was planning on being entirely without it for most of the time I was actually in Vermont, but it looks like I'll be able to stay somewhat connected.
For food on the trip, I have discovered these wonderful things at SuperTarget. They're ready-to-eat Indian food. They're actually really good, and all you have to do is heat and eat them. Which should prevent me from blowing too much of my budget on food while I'm traveling. Though I imagine I'll be dropping a bit on meals once I'm in Syracuse.
I downloaded and watched the new Torchwood season over the last couple of days. It was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'll try to be a bit less delinquent updating this, but there just isn't all that much to say lately. Work, sleep, occasionally watch TV, that's about all I do anymore.
