I noticed on the train this morning that there were two editions of Metro (the morning free newspaper).
The latest edition that most people were reading had on the front page the news of Michael Jackson's death; my edition had this disturbing article:

This evening I went to the London School of Economics to be interviewed by Peter Dunn, who is working on a research on homophobic crime and incidents.

We talked about the last 'incident'  and in general about my experience of homophobia. I found it rather cathartic.

This morning as I was walking to the station I spotted a Chinese lady doing tai chi on the pavement. Two builders were watching on the side of the street (one had - rather alarmingly - a hand down his tracksuit bottom!)

Seeing this lady made me smile, and it reminded me of the other evening when I saw a couple of men holding hands while walking down ( Read more... )

A while after the “ incident”, my boss called me in wanting to know what happened.

We haven't quite decided what we are going to do on Saturday. 
Normally we go on the Pride march every other year, all dressed up for a laugh. 
Last year it was Europride and we went in the "Let them eat cake" costumes that Adrian had made, and ended up walking right in front of Stonewall.
