A Saturday in the countryside

The trip on the Kent and East Sussex railway with Adrian (
london1952) and his Mum was good fun.

The steam train goes through some lovely countryside: green fields dotted with sheep, slopes with bunnies running around (and pheasants), and here and there hop farms. It was all very charming!

The afternoon cream tea on the train was nice too: the scones were superb.

Bodiam also has one of the most eye-catching castles in England: ruins surrounded by a moat still filled with water.

As we have a car for the week-end, Adrian and I went to Ikea after dinner to buy a swivel chair for the desk: the website said it was in stock, but they had obviously run out ages ago as there was a printed sticker saying that it was sold out. Oh well, we bought an orchid instead!
