2010 was a good year. I had my first pro-rate fiction sale ("No Solicitors" to Cicada magazine). With 5 acceptances and 16 rejections (2 non-responses and 4 still out) I am really proud of my acceptance:rejection ratio. In non-writing life, I moved in with my boyfriend, adopted a cat, bought a car, and finished my BA. Definitely a good year. Fairly ( Read more... )

1. Write 50,000 words of fiction (short stories, poetry, novels, worldbuilding/outlines) : 59k total
2. Write something at least 180 days out of 365 : dumped this goal months ago; discovered it's not a good type of goal for me
3. 25 submissions, no matter the results : 27 subs

I've started the New Year with an extended bout of hedonism (hot tub, chocolate, wine, Leonard Cohen's Book of Longing) and it's been wonderful. WRITING GOALS 2009

• write something every day  -----> managed 85/365 days, and 35,003 words. I changed the goal a couple months back to 35000 words, so reached that one.

2008 is over. Was a year of change... mom and dad split; my mom, my dad and my brother all bought new places and moved into them; I had a full time summer job, and I'm sure lots of other little changes besides that I'm forgetting.
