it's the best i can do

Well, sure did good at keeping that happiness meme going...

Day seven was boxing day, happy from that day was going to see Bedtime Stories with caw :D
Day eight was my birthday, happy from that day was my birthday! And going to see Mamma Mia at the NAC, and, well, the entire day in general actually.

Okay, and now that that's out of the way, how did I do on my goals for 2008?

• write daily. Doesn't have to be a lot, doesn't have to be good. Just write.
---> sadly, must say I failed on this one. At some points during the year I was almost there, but overall, resounding lack of success.
• finish at least 5 short stories, including "Summer of Storms," "Sparagmos," and "The Beginning of Change"
---> finished "Real Wishes" and "The Beansidhe" and "Summer of Storms" sort of, it's back in rewrites now though. Some progress, but not complete success.
• finish a novel draft
---> AHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah, no. Nowhere near close.
• exercise twice per week (Shiwon abs of steel would be nice, like Oriane said)
---> success! During the summer, flex class and TAC, and sometimes dance and biking to school; during the fall, dance twice a week.
• stretch thrice per week (I want to be able to do the splits more than I want Shiwon abs of steel)
---> overall fail, though in the summer I was THIS close to getting the splits.
• eat healthier (in terms of what I put into my mouth as well as how much, how often and when)
---> I deem this one a success. In fact so much so that I think/hope it's a habit now and I don't have to put it in my goals for this year.
• do my homework (in order not to be killed by my scary new Latin prof)
---> success! as long as I keep it up now...
• keep my living space cleaner (in order to maintain the pretense of being human a little longer)
---> not a success, at all. At some points not too bad, but overall not so hot here.
• improve critiquing skills
---> success! They still might not be amazing, but they're definitely improved.
• use agenda in order to manage time better
---> success but still need to have this in my goals
• get enough sleep
---> success, as much as it can be a success for a student....
• maintain 85% average
---> success! 85.3, boo yeah.

Goals for 2009 will be posted soon, likely tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good 2008, and I wish for all of you an even better 2009!

goal-setting, it's a good life
