Thinking of the thousands of smart-but-pretty 90's (80's?) stereotypes I've seen in the media - do you think smart women always feel a need to overcompensate

Why are so many of my (male) friends misogynist? Are they really, or are they hurt and lashing out at that which hurt them?
Isn't this the same thing?
So, Danziger, ethics in engineering (a mostly tongue-in-cheek question): What blind watchmaker designed a body that bleeds out once a month?
Blind? How would you make it better?
Related question. How come my roommates cat doesn't menstruate. She certainly doesn't need tampons. Do monkeys? This seems like a very intersting question. I should do a literature search.
"Blind watchmaker" was a slightly tongue-in-cheek reference to a Terry Pratchett joke - called the "blind watchmaker" in reference to the "watchmaker" theory of creation.
I would make it not bleed out monthly but, not being very good at biology, I'm not certain quite how, honestly. But, as you mentioned, cats, dogs, monkeys do not bleed. Why do human females lose their iron (etc) monthly?
Humans are (pretty much) always fertile, while of age. Other species are not. Perhaps this is considered an evolutionary advantage. I wonder that maybe cats etc, do not lose the ovum unless impregnated, and perhaps do not have many cycles of fertility.
overcompensate... or undercompensate... girls can be so annoyingly deceptive. Misogyny comes from experience. But to be fair, I started off hating most men because, well, they're mostly bastards. It's a wonder many of them are still alive and haven't killed each other off for one stupid oversight or another. So it's really nothing personal, or gender specific. I think women have their own set of misconceptions about men, or whatnot, believing that guys do things for the wrong reasons, when at least sometimes they aren't. Metrosexual, manly? I don't think manly has a useful meaning in my vocabulary. I know nothing of pretty-boys and thus cannot advise. Capable, intelligent women are sexy, unless they get all arrogant (which I've seen), which is annoying on anyone. Men are incapable of being sexy. What about pigtails? And in final response, whose bright idea was it to route waste treatment right through the middle of an amusement park?
overcompensate... or undercompensate... girls can be so annoyingly deceptive Do you really want to get into this one with me? Boys are, in different ways, every bit as deceptive, when we are painting with broad strokes.
So it's really nothing personal, or gender specific. Although you seemd to have stopped this, I spent a couple years getting a lot of "girls are dumb" and "girls are self-centered and miserable" from several of my male friends... I don't consider myself self-centered or dumb (occasioanlly msierable), and I am pretty certain I qualify as a "girl" in the general at least... so it's hard to not take it somewhat personally.
What about pigtails? Why does my hair in pigtailed braids elicit lewed commentary from men?
