I'm working on something and wanted some feedback. I'm needing to do some translations that simply state "I speak..." Like "I speak French" - "Je parle français".. But I wanted to double check my translation on the following. If you are fluent in any of the following can you let me know your thoughts on accuracy?

I have a general question for Chinese experts here. When I studied Mandarin in college, it was strongly implied that my learning simplified hanzi would enable me to interpret a great deal of written Cantonese as long as it also used the simplified forms. Which Cantonese word for "thank you" should a customer use toward a cashier, 唔該 or 多謝?

I looked through the tags and didn't see anything for this question. I am looking for online resources for Cantonese. All I have so far is the MDGB dictionary's limited Cantonese support, and some websites that match you with language partners or tutors. TIA!

The PRC Hong Kong government always tell people Cantonese is a useless language. 
Quite a lot of HK local people hate being Cantonese native speaker as 
it is very painful to learn Mandarin, which is an unintelligible language to Cantonese. 
Nowadays, some kindergartens in Hong Kong ban children from speaking in Cantonese even during recess time.
