Coloredink's fics are wonderful, aren't they? As for dreams, aren't they a way of working through our anxieties? I still sometimes have dreams about work -- admittedly, a cracked, non-existent version of work, but still work -- after having been away from it for nearly three years. I didn't dream about it that much when I was there, though; I dream more about my family and school settings than work.
As for sex in dreams: you mean actual sex acts, or just situations where you know sex is the outcome, but your dream doesn't go that far? Because I had my first sex dream -- one in which I was actually having sex, as opposed to a fade to black -- a few months ago. I've had dreams about kissing a woman (no one I recognized) and being fondled while sitting on a woman's lap at the home of an LJ friend I've never met IRL. (I didn't tell her about it, although I doubt she'd be freaked; she's a therapist.) I don't know what to tell you about it other than that ir probably doesn't mean what it seems to. I wouldn't make too much of it, honestly.
Yes, I know I dream about work a lot because it's a way of working through anxieties etc. It's just frustrating to dream about it all the time. I still occasionally have school dreams along the same lines (late for graduation; sitting an exam for a class I realized I accidentally forgot to attend all semester) but not as often as I used to; the work dreams have mostly supplanted them
( ... )
I guess what I'm trying to say is to work out a way to shake off disturbing content like that in your dreams, seeing as it's nothing you actually want to do IRL. I realize it's easy for me to say that because I don't have those types of dreams, or if I do, I don't remember them.
it sets a really bad tone for me for the rest of the day, even though I wouldn't actively try to dream that up AT ALL. Just makes me feel.. gross and dirty. Ugh. Wtf brain.
