Watching 'Ant-Man'. Makes even less sense than the comics. Never have been able to stand Scott Lang - and Hope isn't a patch on Jan (who would have given this version of Hank hell for this caper.) It's also bloody misogynistic - "It proves that he loves you." (No, it proves that the people who wrote this script think women are only there as

Well, that was a bit better, mainly because there was no singing and no fart jokes, and even Radagast seemed a bit less stupid - though not by much. The dwarves, save for Thorin (brooding), Kili (pretty) and Balin (sensible) -- not to forget Bombur (fat) - remain pretty much indistinguishable

A few days ago at lot of my friends got really excited on Facebook because Amazon had sent them a puff e-mail for them to "Pre-order 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' which would contain an 'extended version' and an 'alternate ending

Watching the DVD of Hansel and Gretel:Witch Hunters (£3 in Sainsbury last week.) Cripes! A candidate for the worst movie I've seen in many years. Renner is pretty, but, oh, that ridiculous posing with the BIG GUN (sorta.) The dialogue is just one cliche piled on another cliche, most of which are pure 20th/21st Century

Saw this movie on DVD. Stunning cast, all having fun. Plot - what there is of it - makes no sense. clichés all over the place and fails the Bechdel test big time -- and also includes one woman giving another the shovel speech, which I thought was something that only happened in fan fiction. Left me without any desire to read the graphic novel

Now, I am not a big Judge Dredd fan or even, damn it, a big 2000AD fan, and the film Judge Dredd, despite featuring the perfect casting of Stallone's jaw, was, to be frank, boring

Saw Skyfall last night. Ina adores this movie and it has been hugely well reviewed, particularly in this country, so I started watching half in anticipation, half in scepticism, because I JUST DO NOT LIKE JAMES BOND. No, not even Sean Connery. In fact, particularly not Sean Connery, who is an actor who just plays himself. All the fucking time

For those of my British friends who need to know about
the US Avengers DVD/Blu-Ray set.
We don't have a Blu-Ray machine yet, but the DVD (though Region 1 coded) is of visibly higher quality than the UK Avengers Assemble DVD and is playing nicely on our multi-region machine

I can't help feeling that it's the sudden change in the weather that has brought back my ability to write. Currently I am averaging about 500 words a day (and will get back on hiheel_bookcamp now) but this includes a good bit of deleting. Still, the fact that I know how I am going to re-write the last half a dozen chapters makes me happy. Yet I've had month-
