...I was writing 10/11/09 on all the paperwork at work today.
>______<
FAIL.
I'm gonna mark the day on my calendar just in case it's not a weird premonition for something to come.
But in other news, I really love being the jack-of-all-trades at my workplace. Doesn't matter who it is, but if someone goes on vacation or is out, they ask me to come in for them. I rack up hours like crazy doing odd jobs...one thing for three hours, another thing for two, sometimes I'm even the last person to leave the office after the supervisor has gone home and have to shut off the lights (which is really freaky because there's a weird musical fish that freaks out every time you shut out the lights somewhere in the empty building...so you hear it but have no idea where it's coming from).
After I finish one task, I move onto someone else's job. XD
In an economy that makes no promises of employment, and with a handful of hours allotted me for the week, I almost always double them and more because I'm the extra hand that can pick up anyone else's slack in the office. I have even gotten more hours than the full-timers. It is soooo sweet. And don't tell anyone this, but they don't care if I'm tardy because we always finish early.
And YAAY...they fired the lady that never did anything. I thought they'd never do it...but oh yeah...she got what was comin'. They needed to make a cut and they went with the least productive member of the team. She was a full-time worker, I worked one day a week while in college. In my one day, I would do more work than she did the ENTIRE WEEK. I know this. They post everyone's productivity on a chart every week (quantity, speed, rate), including how many errors (and what kind) everyone had. Co-workers even told her she should work a bit harder, but she really didn't want to try.
I'm glad. It angers me that lazy people can make the same/more money than people who work hard.
wtf,
job
