I finally read the Hunger Games series like everybody said to!

You all know that I like the "Alice" series of girl-growing-up books by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. (Slice of life minutia of not very angsty teens is my comfort genre.) Harriet the Spy was my favorite book at ages eight through twelve inclusive, but I never read Louise Fitzhugh's follow-ups in the same universe... until now. I had been told they were disappointing, and I never happened to see them for sale, so I left it at that. They were recommended for me on Amazon, so I decided to give it a go.

You might think NPR is full of lit snobs and maybe it is, but Twilight seems to have been one of those odd little bits of plebeian pop culture that they randomly take a shine to.
